I specialize in working with individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, perfectionism, self-criticism, and unique culturalized experiences. My clinical approach is client-centred, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and LGBTQ-affirmative. I offer a warm and holistic approach that is strength-based and action-oriented: grounded in theories of acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and mindfulness.

I embrace each day with gratitude, self-compassion, and a commitment to spreading loving kindness. In my role as a therapist, I aim to create a nurturing space characterized by compassion, collaboration, and empowerment. Here, you can explore difficult experiences, tap into your inner resilience and wisdom, and let go of what no longer serves you. I offer tools to cultivate resilience and self-regulation, empowering you to live a fulfilling life with joy. My approach to healing integrates the mind, body, and spirit through a trauma-informed and decolonized perspective.

Transitioning to a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) marks an exciting new chapter for me. Over the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my time to raising my children, immersing myself in permaculture and land-based practices, creating documentary and commercial films, photography, teaching, and exploring stained glass and other arts. I cherish moments in nature, creating art, engaging with the community, and quality time with my children and dog.

Through my journey, I’ve cultivated resilience and empathy, gaining experience in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, bipolar, borderline personality disorder and various mental health disorders.

My therapeutic approach with individuals draws from a Person-Centered Approach incorporating somatic practices, Mindfulness-based Self-Compassion, Polyvagal Theory, guided meditation, and parts-based therapies such as Internal Family Systems and Jungian-informed along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy.

When I was in high school, classmates would ask me for personal and relationship advice. When I saw that I was helping people, it occurred to me, “maybe I can do this as a career one day”.

The backbone of my therapy is based on compassion and empathy. This allows me to show up for you in the way you require for that specific day at that specific time. My therapeutic style is person-centered which means that we work together to develop your sense of self-awareness and self-efficacy. We will identify, process, and manage difficult feelings that are bringing you down while building on strengths you already have. If interpersonal relations are communication are an issue, we will learn communication strategies while helping you express your needs in effective, non-confrontational ways. We will also identify and listen to the parts of you that are stuck in the past while considering whether they serve you or are getting in your way.

From 2008-2020 I lived oversees as an international educator in different countries. This has provided me with appreciation and respect for different cultures and ways of life.
