Life doesn’t always happen the way we expected it to. At these moments it can be easy to feel discouraged or anxious, but you don’t have to continue to feel this way and struggle alone. There are mental health therapists that can help.
A desire to help people in a more defined personal way led me to complete my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I also hold a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the University of Prince Edward Island. Currently, I am qualifying as a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I am originally from the Maritimes and live in Milton with my family and a puppy.
I provide therapy for age 16+, adults, and couples, utilizing an integrative therapeutic approach, which incorporates a variety of modalities to match the needs and preferences of my clients. I respect you as the expert and as such I will work beside you. This means that we always go at your pace, never pushing to a place you don’t feel ready for.
I work with anxiety, life transitions, boundaries, trauma, family conflict, parenting difficulties, relationship issues, as well as many other challenges. You will leave the counselling session feeling support and trust. Together we will begin to establish a healthy, safe, and bright future.
If your willing to make a change and want to get started, please contact me. I am looking forward to working with you.

Sheema is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO). She has obtained her M.A. in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University,.
Counselling Psychology is a pivot in career for me. I have had an extensive 20-year career as a corporate professional working for large organizations in Sales and Marketing and had the immense pleasure to lead high performing teams. This experience has taught me that leading, coaching and mentoring became the part of my job that I enjoyed the most.
As I leaned into my leadership journey, it was clear that mental wellness and overall health of an individual was very much linked to performance and productivity and overall wellbeing. And because of that, I showed up differently for my team and for myself. To be an effective leader, coupled with my curiosity and quest to continue learning about mental health, a new journey started for me. One that allowed me think outside of my business focused education and experience in corporate and pivot to a career that is both fascinating and fulfilling to me.
I am a client centered therapist. What that means is that I am focused on delivering high quality service with the approach that best serves your needs. As we grow and change, so do our needs and that means support can look different from session to session. You are the expert in you and my role is to ensure I am creating the space and ability for you to use your voice.
I am passionate about self-help and healing and a strong advocate for mental health awareness, both in and out of the workplace. I have a great deal of experience dealing with issues such as workplace stress and burnout, depression, anxiety, conflict management, career transitions among many other looks forward to supporting you in your journey

“Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.”
— Pema Chödrön (1997)
In therapy, I strive to create a safe and compassionate space where you can show up just as you are. Together, we’ll work as collaborators—untangling the thoughts, emotions, and patterns. Having walked this path myself, I understand how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help and to keep showing up when it’s hardest. My goal is to hold space for what feels messy or uncomfortable without judgment, labels, or pressure to be “okay.”
I’m passionate about supporting women, youth, and couples through life transitions, relational challenges, and concerns such as people-pleasing, self-esteem, and boundary-setting. I also hold a deep interest in areas such as fertility, postpartum adjustment, and family expansion.
Before pursuing psychotherapy, I worked in community wellness and advocacy, supporting vulnerable populations—including women and youth impacted by addiction, crisis, and domestic violence. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I bring this trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens into every session, grounded in a deep belief that healing happens through connection, compassion, and understanding.
My approach is integrative and flexible—I draw from several evidence-based modalities to meet your unique needs. These may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, and attachment-based assessments.
My hope when working with clients is to create a space where healing feels possible—where together, we can explore your story with curiosity, courage, and care. Holding space for your healing, one conversation at a time.

In life, we all face moments of uncertainty, periods of introspection, or confront challenges we’ve never encountered before. I am steadfast in my belief that deep within each of us lies a vast, internal universe. Occasionally, we simply need a guide to help us navigate and appreciate its boundless expanse. As a counselor, my role isn’t to dictate the course of your life, but rather to join you in uncovering the innate strength and wisdom that lies within.
To me, counseling is more than just a profession; it’s a calling. It’s a commitment to inspire and support individuals in realizing their true worth and potential. If ever you feel lost, disheartened, or isolated, know that there’s always someone ready and willing to listen, to stand by your side.
May every soul find its sanctuary and may all of us come to embrace our authentic selves. If you’re ready to embark on this journey of self-discovery, I’m here to light the way for you.
